The short version
- You can play Spin-It without giving us your name or email. A guest account is created for you so your progress can be saved.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, we store the name, email and profile photo that provider gives us, so your progress follows you between devices.
- Your scores, stars and Muzu's look appear on public leaderboards under your display name, with your photo if your sign-in provides one. Your email is never shown.
- Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- You can delete your account, and everything it holds, from inside the app at any time. See Delete account.
- We do not sell personal data.

1. Who we are
Spin-It (the "App") is made and operated by Mazren Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the App on iOS and Android and to this website.
Questions or requests: mazren.labs@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
2.1 Account information
When you first open the App, a guest account is created for you automatically. It is a random identifier with no name, email or other personal detail attached. It exists so your progress can be saved and so you can appear on the leaderboards. A guest appears under an automatic nickname, a sky word plus a three-letter tag (for example Nova-7KQ), derived from that identifier. It cannot be changed.
If you choose to sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, your guest account is upgraded and we receive from that provider: your display name, your email address, and, for Google, a profile photo URL. Apple lets you hide your email; if you do, we receive a relay address instead. We use this to recognise you on another device and to show your name and photo on the leaderboards. If the provider shares no name, the same nickname is used instead. If the Google or Apple account you pick is already linked to a Spin-It account, the App switches to that account and the guest account is left behind; email us if you would like it removed.
2.2 Gameplay data
Stored against your account, guest or signed in, so it can be saved and synced across devices:
- Your best result on each level you have played, in every universe: score, stars, bonus points, how many attempts it took, how often you improved it, and when it was set. Also your star totals, and when you last reset your progress.
- Your standings in weekly seasons: score, stars and boards solved.
- Whether you own the Premium upgrade.
- Which appearance items Muzu is wearing.
- Your answer to the optional "what next?" question at the end of a universe (more levels, harder ones or new tricks), with the time you gave it. Only we can read it.
2.3 Public leaderboards
The leaderboards and season standings can be read by every player of the App, including guests. They show your display name, your score and star totals (overall and for each universe), Muzu's appearance, and, if you signed in with Google or Apple and the provider supplied one, your profile photo. Season standings also show how many of that week's boards you solved. Rows are filed under your account's random identifier. Your email is never shown.
2.4 Notifications
Season reminders are scheduled on your device. Once weekly seasons are open to you, the App sets a local reminder that fires in the evening on a day when none of that day's season boards have been played. It is on unless you turn it off in Settings. Nothing is sent to us and no token is created for it.
The separate Notifications switch is for occasional announcements from us. While it is on and your device allows the App to receive notifications, we store a push token for each device you use, with a random device identifier and the platform (iOS or Android), so we can deliver them. Your device's own notification permission decides whether anything is shown. Turning the switch off removes the token.
2.5 Purchases
The Premium upgrade is an in-app purchase, monthly, yearly or for life, sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those stores handle payment; we never receive your card or bank details. We use RevenueCat to confirm which purchases belong to your account. RevenueCat receives your account's random identifier for every player, so a purchase can be matched to the right account, and the store's purchase receipt if you buy. It does not receive your name or email.
2.6 Data that stays on your device
Your settings (sky, sound, language, controls, haptics, reduce motion), Muzu's outfit, your hint balance and when your next free hints arrive, which lessons you have seen, your season progress, your sign-in session and a copy of your progress are stored on your device. They are not sent to us except where they form part of the synced gameplay data above. On Android, the system may include this app data in your Google device backup if you have backups turned on.
2.7 What we do not collect
- We do not show ads, and no advertising service receives anything from the App.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not run a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. The aggregate figures we look at (for example, how many players solved a level) are computed from the gameplay data described above.
- Sharing a solve makes a short clip on your device and hands it to your device's own share sheet. Nothing you share is sent to us.
3. How we use it
- To run the game: save and sync your progress, show leaderboards and season standings, and unlock Premium.
- To send notifications you have not turned off.
- To keep the game fair and safe: detect tampering and remove offensive names or implausible scores from the leaderboards.
- To understand how the game is played in aggregate, and to read the answers to the "what next?" question, so we can improve levels and decide what to build next.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or a similar law applies, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract (our Terms of Service) for account, gameplay, leaderboard and purchase data.
- Legitimate interests in keeping the game fair, secure and improving, in delivering announcements you have not switched off, and in learning what players want next, balanced against your rights.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App, and only for the purposes above:
| Provider | What they do | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Authentication, database, notifications and hosting for the App and this site. | Firebase privacy |
| RevenueCat | Confirms in-app purchases. | RevenueCat privacy |
| Apple, Google | Sign-in providers and app stores. | Apple · Google |
Other players can see what is on the public leaderboards (section 2.3). We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of players or the App. If Mazren Labs is ever acquired or merged, your data would transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and gameplay data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your profile, progress, leaderboard row, season standings, "what next?" answer and push tokens are deleted from our database promptly. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on their normal cycle, within about 30 days.
- Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat for as long as their policies require, so that Premium can be restored if you reinstall.
- Records of moderation actions may keep your account identifier, without your name or email, for up to 12 months.
7. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and everything it holds from inside the App: Profile → Account → Delete. Details on the Delete account page.
- Reset your progress without deleting the account: Profile → Progress → Reset.
- Sign out at any time from Profile if you signed in with Google or Apple. Your cloud data stays until you delete the account.
- Notifications and Season reminders can be turned off in Settings in the App, or in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, email mazren.labs@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We answer within 30 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
8. Children
Spin-It is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age at which a child can consent to data processing where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has created a signed-in account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access rules ensure that only your own signed-in session can read or change your private data; leaderboard rows are readable by other players but can be changed only by their owner. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your Google or Apple account protected.
10. International transfers
Our service providers process data on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard maintained by the provider.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will let you know in the App or on this page before they take effect.
